  • Summary of Requirements for <relatedItem>
    The DLF/Aquifer Implementation Guidelines for Shareable MODS Records recommend the use of the <relatedItem> element in three cases:
         1. to point to a full metadata record for a related item
         2. to provide contextual information useful for full description of the resource.
         3. to provide additional information about intellectual constituent units of the resource being described
    This element is repeatable. (page 65)
  • Per the Levels of Adoption Document Level 4: @authority attributes in general
  • Click on the Add One Related Item button to add another set of relatedItem input tags.
  • Required Fields have yellow-highlighted input box.
    • MODS LABEL VALUE
    The only type of Related Item supported is a Link to a related item's metadata record.
