<titleInfo>

  • Summary of Requirements for <titleInfo>
    The DLF/Aquifer Implementation Guidelines for Shareable MODS Records require the use in all records of at least one <titleInfo> element with one <title> subelement. Other subelements of <titleInfo> are recommended when they apply. This element is repeatable. (page 13)
  • Per the Levels of Adoption Document Level 1: at least one <titleInfo> element with one <title> subelement is required.
  • Per the Levels of Adoption Document Level 4: @authority attributes in general
  • Required Fields have yellow-highlighted input box.

    The DLF Aquifer Guidelines recommend using both type and authority attributes for <titleInfo> when applicable.
    These attributes must be used in the correct combination.
  • type="abbreviated" - needs authority="dnlm" or authority="hlasha"
  • type="translated" - should not have authority
  • type="alternative" - should not have authority
  • type="uniform" - needs authority="naf" or authority="sanb"
