Friday, February 3, 1865. To day we left the Conel and got aboard of The Steamer called the Star of the South lay at the wharf all night

Saturday, February 4, 1865. Pulled out from the wharf at four Oclock in the morning just before leaving one of Co B of 100 was shot dead while a sleep on deck. It was a glancing shot from the wharf Sailed until dark and for the night. Anchored about 20 mile from the mouth of the Potomac River
