Biographical/Historical Note
Robert Asquith, born May 8, 1924, served during World War II as a sergeant in the 3rd Division, 15th Infantry. In October of 1944, he was captured at St. Die, France and held as a prisoner until April 1945. He was held in camps IIIA and IIIB and was liberated at camp IIIA in Luckenwalde, Germany by the Russian Forces. Asquith died January 16, 1994 and is buried in Knox County, Tenn.
