This collection houses a postcard depicting the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) College of Agriculture, dated 1909. The postcard was originally a bi-fold, but is now cut in two.

Abstract

Biographical/Historical Note

The College of Agriculture dates from 1869, when the University of Tennessee became a federal land grant institution. It was expanded under President Charles Dabney (1887-1904) who favored agricultural and mechanical learning over the traditional classical curriculum. It is now called the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
