Abstract
This collection contains an 81-page interview, conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society for the Vetran's Oral History Project, which covers the life of Samuel Shipman from his youth, to serving in Vietnam, to his thoughts on the TVA.
Biographical/Historical Note
Author of 525-6 Military Operations, Lessons Learned Land Clearing, Samuel A. Shipman is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was born in Texas, the son of a WWII veteran and a nurse. He used the G. I. Bill to attend the University of Tennessee and then worked for the TVA. Shipman died on January 28, 2020.
