Biography / History
Logan Goodpasture of Carter County, Tennessee enrolled in the Union Army on February 1, 1864. On September 1, 1865, he was mustered into Company F of the 13th Regiment of the Tennessee Cavalry as an Under Cook. A Corporal Logan Goodpasture, likely the same person, served as a "buffalo soldier" (an African-American soldier fighting Native Americans after the Civil War) in Texas. He later moved to San Antonio, Texas where he worked as a lawyer.
