Biography / History

The newspaper Farmer's Cabinet, now the Cabinet has been published in Amherst, New Hampshire from 1802 to the present day. Richard Boylston, who was a journeyman printer at the time, purchased the paper in 1802, and it remained in his family until 2005.

This collection consists of the Farmers' Cabinet newspaper of Friday, February 26, 1836 No. 26 Vol. 34, published by Richard Boylston. It contains national news stories, including rumors of the death of Davy Crockett in Texas (page 3) and the Seminole War in Florida, religious and travel articles, and local notices. Newspaper is folded due to space constraints.
