On November 7, 1821, the Tennessee General Assembly created Henry County, named in honor of Revolutionary War statesman Patrick Henry. The Henry County Court House was erected in 1823 in Paris, West Tennessee's oldest incorporated municipality. The county counted 31,115 residents in the 2000 census.

This collection contains the Magistrate's Docket for the 13th District of Henry County, Tennessee from the 1870s to the 1910s. It records the trial date, reason, judgment, and payments of various people over five decades. Some of the registering clerks include W. J. Atkins, P. T. Littleton, W. B. Walker, and J. D. Morris, Justice of the Peace.
