The Southeastern College Art Conference (SECAC) was founded in 1942 at Sweet Briar College to promote the study of visual arts at colleges and universities. Its members come from twelve states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. SECAC holds an annual conference and publishes The SECAC Review, an annual refereed journal. It also publishes The SECAC Newsletter three times a year.
