Biography / History
Edgar Emory Johnson was born on February 27, 1890 to Charles and Josephine (Fry) Johnson. He married Etta (1889-1971) on December 12, 1906, in Gibson County, Tennessee and the couple's only child, Lila, was born on May 5, 1911. Edgar mustered into military service in Gibson County, Tennessee, on November 16, 1917. During the war, he served with Company E of the 306th Ammunition Train and participated in the Meuse-Argonne campaign. He was discharged on June 12, 1919 and returned to his wife and daughter. He committed suicide on March 9, 1930.
