Collection Scope and Content Note

A collection of photographs of African Americans in or around Knoxville from 1941-1962. These photographs come from two photo albums and a Historical and Pictoral Review of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. One of the photo albums is from a tour of duty in Germany and Sweden during World War II

The first Photo album is seemingly made up of images of a family that lived in or around Knoxville. The photos include group and individual portraits. It is unkown what the family name is. The Historical and Pictoral Review of Fort Bragg, North Carolina is bascially a year book for the year 1941, including all of the soldiers stationed there in 1941. It also shows their different activities inside of the base. The second photo album seems to be a photo album of a tour of duty in Germany and Sweden. The album consists of pictures of what the soldiers did in their free time. No dates are given for this photo album.
