Biography / History

Andrew Edwin Clement was born on February 7, 1865 to Benjamin Wright and Catherine Elizabeth Matthews Clement in Humboldt, Tennessee. He married Annie Lee Cotton on 22 December 1897 and the couple had four children: Mary Elizabeth, Edwin Alexander, Rachel Lee, and Martha. After the death of his first wife on October 19, 1908, Clement married Sarah Alice Dean (January 14, 1878-?) on November 2, 1910. The couple had one daughter, Mary Dean. At the time these letters were written, the Reverend A.E. Clement was the commissioner of Galloway Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He died on April 2, 1943.
