C. D. H. Barnes of Nashville, TN, graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1932. Peyton W. Guthrie of Knoxville, TN, graduated in 1933. Charles "Chas" and Ethelyn Burt were the parents of Ellsworth "Els."

This collection contains several law school notebooks, kept by University of Tennessee students, C. D. H. Barnes, Peyton W. Guthrie, and possibly R. J. Barnes, from the 1930s. There is also a diary/scrapbook, kept by Mrs. Charles (Ethelyn) Burt of New York, in 1930.
