The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods. Kesterson shares the experience of surgery on the war front.

Biography / History

John E. Kesterson was born in November, 1918. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1935 and the University of Tennessee in 1939. He attended Vanterbilt Medical School and graduated in 1943. Kesterson served in the Army's Medical Administration Corps as a general surgeon. He was stationed in Kidderminster, England. After the war, he set up a private medical practice.
