Corporal Alfred E. Pickard was in the 159th Aero Squadron, American Expeditionary Force. He returned home to Tennessee after the war.
Collection Scope and Content Note
This letter, written by Corporal Pickard on December 11, 1918, is a report to his mother detailing his R and R in Aix Les Baines, from December 11-19, 1918 as well as the history of the region. The original letter is 31 pages and the transcribed letter is 5 pages. The letter is written on Y.M.C.A "On Active Service with the American Expeditionary Force" stationery.
