Biography / History

Marcus Bertrand Bibee attended the University of Tennessee for three and one quarter years where he played football. He worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for eight and one half years as an engineer. He served in the Navy's 73rd Battalion during World War II. Bibee co-wrote "The Girl I Used to Know." He also wrote poetry.


Collection Scope and Content Note

The M.B. Bibee Papers, 1942-1946, contains correspondence written by Bibee, as well as several letters of recommendation that speak highly of him. Also included in this collection are some of Bibee's poems, as well as one issue of "The 73rd Chatter Box," a battalion's newsletter publication that Bibee edited.
