Collection Scope and Content Note

This collection contains eight undated photographs of twenty-one unidentified persons taken by several Tennessee photographers. There are three photographs taken by Nashville photographers (Herstein, Otto B. Giess, and R. E. Hearn). These photographs include one of a middle-aged man, a young girl standing beside her dog, and a young boy with the inscription "Ben Cartwright" on the back. There is also one photograph of a black man taken by James A. Cargille of Johnson City, Tenneessee. There are two photographs from Morristown, Tennessee. The first is of a group of ten ladies standing outside with a young girl and the second is a photograph of four men at a bar. There is one photograph of a woman taken by Chattanooga, Tennessee photographer Schmedline. The last photograph is of a young girl and a child with the inscription "Gallant Sweetwater, Tenn" below the photograph.
