Collection consists of two folders.

The United Charities of Clarksville, TN, was established on December 19, 1910, to join representatives of different churches and agencies that were engaged in relief work for the poor of the city. According to the organization's constitution, the United Charities were charged with creating "a system of mutual help and co-operation between such agencies as will unify this great work, while yet not relieving the various churches or organizations of the responsibility of keeping in personal touch with the poor, for whom they feel especially responsible, of visiting and ministering to them spiritually, or of ascertaining that their needs are cared for." The group focused much of its work on children, prisons, and African Americans.

The United Charities of Clarksville, TN, Minute Book, 1910-1925, records the attendees and synopses of reports presented at the meetings of the organization. The book contains handwritten notes as well as typed notes folded or pasted into the book. Also included in the collection are pamphlets and loose sheets of notes that were found in the back of the minute book. The pamphlets include a printed copy of the organization's 1916 annual report as well as two copies of the constitution and by-laws of the organization.
