Biography / History

Alfred William Douglass of Gallatin, TN, was a minister and educator in Nashville. An 1842 graduate of the University of Nashville, Douglass was a tutor at that institution from 1843-1845. He served as president of the Male Academy from 1845 until his death from cholera on August 23, 1849.
