Major Roscoe Carlisle d'Armand (1892-1972) from Knoxville, TN, was a very influential Tennessee Society History member; he started the Chattanooga chapter and is the dedicatory of their library in the East Tennessee Historical Society building in Knoxville. d'Armand published DeArmond Families of America & Related Families in 1954. He married Virginia d'Armand on June 17, 1924.

This collection, the Major R.C. d'Armand Letter, 1944, contains one letter and envelope to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Turner in Knoxville, TN, on June 30, 1944.
