Biography / History

There are many William Deishers and Deyshers from Berks County, Pennsylvania. This W. M. Deisher could be the William Deysher born May 24, 1882, and died in Nov 1966, who lived in Reading and West Reading, PA. No information could be found on his business, Armentrout (or Ermentrout) & Deisher Company in Reading, PA.

House Resolution 6324 was called the Walter-Logan Bill of 1940, co-sponsored by House Representative Francis Walter of Pennsylvania. It was formulated by opponents of the New Deal, and supported by American Bar Association's Section on Administrative Law. The Bill was designed to improve the various agencies of the Federal Government's administrative branch and to enact rules and regulations to be followed throughout those agencies for more expeditious settlement of disputes with the United States. Thus, it would drastically inhibited regulatory process in New Deal agencies. President Franklin D. Roosevelt vetoed the bill, which came very close to being overridden.
