This agreement made and entered into between Calloway Hodge of the state of Tenn Jefferson Co the condition is such where as I the said Hodge has this day hired to William Wilson of the county of Jackson state of NC one negro boy named Gamon (?) for the sum of one hundred and eighty seven dollars cash paid in hand I the said Wilson do promise to cloath [sic] and feed said boy and return him at the end of twelve months if the yankes dont git [sic] him or he dies other wise I return him signed sealed & delivered this 5 day of Feb 1864
