Biography / History

Leonard H. Brickey (d. 1952) was born to John B. J. Brickey, Sr. and Laura Kitts in Blount County, TN. In 1948, he was principal of Central High School, and for a time before that he was superintendent of Knox County Schools. Brickey married Trula Hill. He died January 20, 1952.


Collection Scope and Content Note

This collection of the Leonard H. Brickey Papers, 1939-1957, is divided into two series. The first contains the lists of teachers in Knox County, most of these being from 1939-1940, with one list from 1956-1957. The second series is of 1946 letters, concerning Knox County school and library business affairs. It also includes Brickey's 1946 day planner, filled in through August 1946.

There is nothing from the years 1941-1945 or 1947-1955.
