Abstract:

This collection consists of five series related to the United States Bicentennial, the Constitution Celebration and the Bill of Rights Celebration. The materials are dated between 1976 and 1992. The collection contains many documents owned by Dr. Milton Klein, who served on several Bicentennial committees. Dr. Klein was a faculty member of the University of Tennessee History Department and the University Historian.

Dr. Milton Klein was a member of the University of Tennessee hsitory department, and he specialized in Colonial American history. He donated this material to Special Collections. Dr. Klein obtained it when serving as a member of the Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution. In addition, he served on the University of Tennessee Bicentennial Committee and as the University of Tennessee Historian.

This collection relates to the Bicentennial of the United States, Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The collection is arranged in five series: Series I - Publications, Calendars, and Posters; Series II - Constitution Week Material; Series III - Presentations; Series IV - Public Schools Teaching Material; and Series V - Miscellaneous. The folders contained in this collection are arranged starting with bibliographies and booklets and ending with a brochure about citizenship.
