Elkmont Deed Forms, Wills, and Abstractor's Certificate, 1839-1930 Scope Note: The packet's title is "Abstract of title to the Appalachian Club and new Appalachian Club subdivision in the town of Elkmont, Tennessee, eleventh civil district, Sevier County, Tennessee, prepared for the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains Park Commission by Lassiter and Rippy, Abstractors."
All documents are filed chronologically. The handwritten numbers at the bottom of the pages correspond to the order in which the documents appeared in the packet before they were rearranged chronologically. All Wills are filed by their probated date, and Deed Forms are filed by the "Date of Deed." When two Deed Forms have the same "Date of Deed," they are then filed by the "Date of Record" and, if necessary, by the book and page numbers.
