Collection consists of three boxes divided into five series: Newsletters and Ephemera; Correspondence; Photographs; Photocopies; and Programs and Scrapbooks.

Grace Moore was an opera singer and movie star from Tennessee. She was born in 1898 or 1901 in Jellico, Tennessee--she and others have used both dates--and later lived in several other Tennessee cities. After performing on Broadway and at the Metropolitan Opera, she started a successful movie career. Her most famous film was called "One Night of Love." Also, she had a very successful record career and an extensive fan club. In 1947, Grace Moore died in a plane crash in Denmark. She was buried in Chattanooga.

The Grace Moore Collection contains photographs and publicity shots as well as fan club newsletters giving the latest information about Miss Moore at the time. There are many letters and telegrams to and from Grace Moore, highlighting the various stops for her tours. The collection also includes assorted programs and a run of scrapbooks from the 1930s.
