Biography / History

Dobson was born in Greeneville, Tennessee in 1920 and was educated in the public schools there and at nearby Tusculum College. In 1941 he went to New York, where he gained recognition on the stage and in radio drams. By 1950 he found his way to Hollywood to work in the film industry. By appearing in numerous motion pictures in supporting roles he became a familiar face on the screen. His California activities also included stage and television assignments. In his last years he was a coach and dialogue director on several popular and long running television series. He died in December of 1987.
