Collection consists of twenty-four boxes.

Egon Lorenz was born on October 18, 1891 in Breslau, Germany. He obtained his Ph.D degree in physics in 1921 and immigrated to the United States in February of 1935. During World War II, he was active in the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. His professional career focused on the effects of radiation on living things, and this research led to his participation in the development of bone marrow transplantation. Lorenz died in 1954.
