Biography / History
William R. Caswell was born in about 1810. He worked as a lawyer and merchant in Dandridge, Tennessee for most of his life. When the Civil War began, he served as a Brigadier General in the Provisional Army of Tennessee. He resigned in October of 1861 and died before 1870 in Tennessee.
