Access and Use
The papers of Charles Bell Burke, former University professor of English, were received by the University of Tennessee Library in 1952 as bequest of Dr. Burke with additions made in 1953 and 1962. The l962 addition (carbons of previously obtained originals) was made by Dr. Burke's sister-in-law, Mrs. Gordon L. Burke.

Biography / History
Charles Bell Burke was born in Tennessee in approximately 1868. He taught at the University of Tennessee from 1910 until 1942.
