Biography / History
Francis Hodgeson Burnett was born in Manchester, England; however, after her father's death her family moved to Knoxville, TN. Soon after moving to Knoxville, Burnett began writing for magazines. Her first popular work was "Surly Tim's Trouble." Among her most notable novels are: That Lass o' Lowrie's , Through One Administration , and A Lady of Quality .
Collection Scope and Content Note
The first folder of this collection contains family photographs, marriage certificates, and other family records. The second folder contains the compositions of Mary J. Lynch. The third folder contains Francis Hodgson Burnett letters and ephemera.
