Additionally, McAdoo describes the Mexican landscape, his encounters with locals, troop movements, and the Battle of Vera Cruz (March 1847).

It holds the faces of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Andrew Jackson, along with McClellan and Seymour as Beacon Lights for American freedom. There is no date, but it is probably from 1864 when McClellan beat Seymour for the Democratic candidacy for president in opposition to Lincoln.

Abstract: In a deposition in Burke County, NC, court, dated March 4, 1789, Joseph McDowell testifies that James Cook told him that David Nelson had taken a gun from him then said took an otter skin shot pouch in the year of 1780. While Cook has attempted to get payment from Nelson, Nelson will not pay. The testimony notes that this took place shortly before the action at King's Mountain.

Title: Tennessee Partial Medical Ledger, MS-2814
Abstract: This ledger begins on August 15th, 1827 and consists of thirteen pages -- or twenty six, front to back. A couple of pages have had a portion cut out, which was occasionally done when accounts were settled. The last date is 1837. The ledger was found in a grouping of papers from Wilson and Smith counties (Tenn.) and the among the names which appear on the ledger are Jones Bishop and Joseph Bishop.

Abstract: This collection consists of 59 black and white photographs from the 1950s and 1960s. 22 photographs are dated. Almost all of the photographs were taken in Memphis, but one is from Virginia. The photographs were probably collected by the Memphis World. A significant number of the photographs show university professors, men in uniform, and religious leaders. The photographs include images of Dr. Deborah Cannon Partridge, Horace Mann Bond, Fred Valentine, Reverend Varnado of Memphis inspecting damage to his Church, and a picture of a Memorial Day military celebration.

Abstract: This collection consists of three stereographs portraying Montvale Springs, East Tennessee. All three are part of a series entitled The Beauties Around Montvale Springs, East Tennessee and were taken by T.M. Schleier of the American and Foreign Stereoscopic Emporium in Knoxville, Tennssee. Two of the images portray waterfalls, and the third shows several people sitting by a stream.

Abstract: This October 9, 1863, letter is to a Mr. A. Douglas from George E. Moore of the Signal Corps under Gen. Thomas in Chattanooga, TN. Moore notifies Douglas that rebel forces captured John [no last name] as a prison of war when returning from the Sequachee Valley, and he details the circumstances surrounding the capture.

Morgan, including all pieces of evidence to be presented in Senate Hearings regarding the matter.

Abstract: This letter dated February 19, 1864, was written by David A. Moulton, a Union solider and a private in the 11th Regiment, New Hampshire Infantry. He was stationed at a camp near Knoxville, Tennessee and writes to his mother Miriam S. Moulton in Hampton, New Hampshire. He expresses to her thanks and gives some information about a scrimmage victory over Confederate Army leader Lieutenant General Longstreet in early February 1864.

Title: Musikalische 5 Cent Collection Songbook, MS-3091
Abstract: This collection consists of a single German-language songbook entitled Musikalische 5 Cent Collection most likely dating from 1883. It provides the lyrics and music for three songs: Das Weihnachts=Licht (The Christmas Light), Wenn der Herr die Gefangenen Zions erloefen wird (When the Lord Delivers Zion's Captives) and Fortfestung (A Mighty Fortress). The final two pieces constitute a musical setting of Psalm 126. This copy was printed in Knoxville, Tennessee by Tilghman Haws.
