Title: Daniel Billen Papers
Abstract: This collection of UT professor Dr. Daniel Billen's experiments focuses on the effects of radiation on the E. coli and B. subtillis cells. Also included are student experiments, graphs, computer printed data sheets, and Dr. Billen's personal notebooks. These notebooks contain compiled data and conclusions of experiments conducted during the years 1973-1980.

Abstract: This collection houses vouchers, journal entries, and account records documenting the activities of the Knoxville Park Association, the Knoxville Electric Light and Power Company, the Knoxville Street Railway, and the Knoxville Traction Company between 1896 and 1920.

Abstract: The collection contains correspondence from the Knoxville Tennessee Homecoming '86 office detailing preparations for that city's year-long events and celebrations. Historical material is included on different communities in the Knoxville/Knox County area. Video tapes and audio tapes are part of the collection.

Abstract: This group of material is made up of student projects from Dr. Michael Lofaro's class on folklore. The papers are arranged by the general subject and then by the student's last name. Cassette and Video tapes accompany some of the papers. Numbers in parentheses indicate identification number for cassette tapes corresponding to student papers. Cassettes and video tapes are found in Box 5.

Title: Ex-Slave Bounty and Pension Association Certificate of Membership
Abstract: This certificate of membership in the Ex-Slave Bounty and Pension Association was issued to Rollie Johnson of Loudon, Tennessee in 1898. According to the certificate, membership fees ($0.25) are used to aid in the passage of the Ex-Slave Bounty and Pension Bill and monthly dues ($0.10) go to aid the ex-slave movement and raise funds to promote the passage of the aforesaid bill.

Title: Technical Society of Knoxville Papers
Abstract: This collection contains agendas and minutes of Society meetings from December 1983 through February 1989. Also included are reports of annual meetings, committee meetings, and nominating committee meetings. The newsletter of the Society, "The Technical Soupcon", is included in the collection. These issues are for the period of January 1972-November 1989. The yearbooks of the society (1949-1986) are included in the collection.

Abstract: This collection consists of Dr. Sharp's journals of collected flora in Latin America, Taiwan, Mexico, India, Japan, the Philippines, and several western states of the United States. Also included is biographical information on Dr. Sharp as well as both professional and personal correspondence by Dr. Sharp. Numerous journal articles written by Dr. Sharp are part of the collection. The collection contains Dr. Sharp's handwritten journals as well as those same journals typewritten.

Abstract: This installment of the World War II Collection contains a diversity of records, maps, photos, correspondence, newspapers and scrapbooks from participants in both the European and Pacific War Theatres. Two of the most significant contributions include those of Capt. John A. Henson and the renowned late foreign news correspondent John T. Whitaker of Chattanooga, Tennessee who covered the European Theatre.

Abstract: Among the highlights of this collection are clippings from various Tennessee newspapers of historical articles by Dr. Folmsbee including those celebrating the 150th anniversary of the state. Also included are manuscripts from several books including Tennessee: A Short History and History of Tennessee among others. Finally, there are papers from the Tennessee Society, Sons of the Revolution and a set of reprints of Civil War Newspapers.
