Abstract: In this document, President Andrew Johnson pardons Hannah W. Swan of Knox County for her rebellion against the United States of America on the conditions that she take the oath given in the May 29, 1865 Proclamation of the President, never owns slaves nor uses slave labor, pays all costs from any previous legal proceedings, doesn't attempt to recover any property seized by the government during the Civil War, and notifies the Secretary of State in writing that she has received and accepted the pardon.

Abstract: This collection consists of a typescript copy of a 22-page memoir entitled The Bivouac: or, Life in the General Army of the Kentucky by Talbot Greene (sometimes spelled Talbert Green). This manuscript lists the officers and men of the 26th Tennessee Infantry (also called the 3rd East Tennessee Volunteers), documents life in the unit's camp, describes the places that the unit visited, provides reconstructions of the conversations of some of the soldiers, and prints transcriptions of various patriotic songs.

Additionally, McAdoo describes the Mexican landscape, his encounters with locals, troop movements, and the Battle of Vera Cruz (March 1847).

Roberson during the Mexican War.
