The collection is arranged alphabetically, by last name of the collector.

Abstract: This is the fourth installment of the papers of Alexander Hollaender, a radiation researcher and head of the Biology Division of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This installment consists of documents and correspondence pertaining to the many symposiums and workshops in which Hollaender dealt over the latter part of his career. Also, Dr. Hollaender's personal files between the years of 1950 and 1975 are included.

Title: World War II Collection
Abstract: This edition of the World War II Collection contains memorabilia and pictures from the foot soldier and seaman to the top officers. In addition to diaries, books and training manuals, this collection houses Regimental and Divisional histories and interviews of veterans. Among the most prominent groups of items are the Pacific Theatre photographs donated by Harwell Proffit, and photographs of the European Theatre donated by Harry Leake and John Joseph Wise (in oversize). Represented therein are such eminent figures as Gen. McArthur, Adm. Halsey, Gen. Eisenhower, King Umberto I of Italy, King Victor Emmanuel of Italy, Gen. Patton, and Prime Minister Churchill. This collection is arranged alphabetically by last name of the collector.

Title: Julia Francis Hammond Spring Diary,
Abstract: This diary was kept by Julia Frances Hammond Spring -- wife of B.F. Spring of Pikeville, Tennessee. The album covers a period from 1852-1878. Much in the diary is of a religious nature, regarding the Methodist Church, mentions of preachers, and sermons. Also in the collection is another handwritten book that appears to be her daughter's first school exercise book.

Abstract: This collection is actually two copies of one set of slides. The original slides are typical of early 20th century slides, and the collection is organized by the numbers found on these originals. There are also copies of these slides made on modern slides. The number of these slides follows the descriptions of the slide (as written by the photographer or collector).

Title: Mattie B. Sperry Collection
Abstract: This collection contains correspondence between George and Mattie Price, George Price's passport, a certificate -- signed by Tennessee Governor Robert Taylor -- desiginating him as delegate to represent Tennessee at the World Exposition in Paris, France. Other materials include a food ration book, menus, photographs, and a stamp collection.

Abstract: This collection contains information in the form of magazine and newspaper articles, correspondence, court proceedings, congressional records and other materials concerning the lengthy battle between the T.E.S.C. and the TVA over the building of the Tellico Dam and the dam's threat to various elements of the local environment, particularly an endangered species of fish, the Snail Darter.
